First Assessment Field Workshop, Bolków, Poland, June 2006
Funded by a DFG grant and logistical and organization support from the Czech Geological Survey and the University of Wrocław, a group of 15 experts and students from Saxony, Poland and the Czech Republic carried out an assessment field workshop in June 14th to 18th, 2006 at Bolków, Poland, with field trips to Polish and Czech outcrops of Late Palaeozoic volcanic and subvolcanic rocks. The main goals of the workshop were: i) to assess the data and knowledge that exists in the three countries on the Carboniferous-Permian volcanic and subvolcanic systems of the area, and ii) to define a concise project outline divided into program steps and thematic topics. Following the Bolków workshop the programme, title and logo of the project were defined.
